School and airport directory policy.

Airport records come from the FAA National Airspace System Resources (NASR) — Airport query. Identifiers and names are a directory index, not operational airport information. Consult current FAA publications, NOTAMs, charts and the airport itself.

School records come from a current official source or from an authorised submission by the school. Each listing shows its source type and the date it was last reviewed. We do not copy descriptions, photographs or reviews from other directories.

No fictional school, instructor, rating, availability, testimonial or review is ever published as real content. There are no seeded listings: an empty directory says it is empty.

Appearing in this directory, appearing in a particular position, or being linked from a factual record is not approval, recommendation, FAA certification, accreditation, a safety assurance, or a guarantee that a school is currently operating.

Inclusion is free. If a paid placement is ever introduced it will be conspicuously labelled as an advertisement and will never be presented as an independent ranking. Placement, certification status and verification cannot be bought.

Both are ways to train under the federal aviation regulations. A Part 141 pilot school holds an FAA pilot school certificate and trains under an FAA-approved course outline with specified minimum hours and stage checks. Training under Part 61 is conducted by certificated instructors following the regulation's requirements without an FAA-approved course outline.

Neither route is inherently better, and both lead to the same certificates and ratings. A school that trains under Part 61 is not FAA-approved, and we never describe it that way. We show “FAA-certificated Part 141” only when a current official source for that certificate was reviewed; everything else reads as Part 61 or as not verified.

A school can claim its listing from the listing page. A claim is reviewed by a person before it is approved. Once approved, the school can edit its own description and public contact details; certification status, provenance and publication remain with our review team.

Anyone can request a correction or the removal of a record by writing to fly@pilotmethodaviation.com or using the contact form. Material edits require evidence and are recorded in an audit trail with who changed what and when.

Closed, duplicate, unverified or disputed records are labelled or withheld rather than guessed at.

This version publishes no public reviews, star ratings, pass rates, fleet claims, prices, or partnership claims, because none of those have been verified. When reviews are introduced they will follow the reviews and testimonials policy.
