The Private Pilot Course refund terms, in plain English.

Purchasing is not enabled on this site. No checkout is active, no payment can be taken, and no order exists — so there is nothing to refund or cancel right now.

The policy below is published in advance because you should be able to read the price and every refund limitation before you ever reach a payment screen. When checkout opens, the same terms appear again at checkout and you accept them with an explicitly unchecked box.

This refund policy is the settled policy for one product: the Private Pilot Course. It does not apply automatically to guides, the Quick Reference Library, or any other product. Each of those will have its own published policy, shown before payment; none is assumed from this page.

The Private Pilot Course is a one-time purchase of $199 USD. It is not a subscription, there is no automatic renewal, and no recurring charge is ever created for it.

You can request a full refund within 30 calendar days of your purchase. To qualify, all of the following must also be true at the time of the request:

• your server-recorded course completion is below 80%;
• you have not submitted a request for final instructor review or for a knowledge-test endorsement; and
• no completion credential has been issued to you.

These are material limits on the refund, not fine print: they are stated here, on the product page and at checkout before you pay.

An approved refund is returned to the original payment method. When it is issued, the paid entitlement for the course is revoked and access ends. A refund is a reversal of the purchase, not a way to keep the material.

Nothing here removes a right you cannot waive under the consumer-protection law that applies to you. Separately from the window above, if we materially fail to deliver the access you paid for and the failure is attributable to The Pilot Method, we will fix the access or refund you — whichever you reasonably prefer — even outside the 30 calendar day window.

The Private Pilot Course is Part 61 home-study support. It is not FAA approved, it is not a Part 141 approved course, and completing it never automatically grants an endorsement; a qualified instructor makes that decision manually. Purchasing gives you a personal, nontransferable license for your own training use.
